1.5 months into my year in Manhattan

These have been some of the most interesting weeks of my life, and I think I should share my adventures with everyone. After my AMAZING few days back home in the 'Burg, I feel rejuvenated and ready to take the Big Apple by storm. On top of posting poems and/or song lyrics, I'm going to start adding stories from the city and updates about training for my marathon.

Here's my first story. This happened a couple of weeks ago.

I was in the park and I walked by this blind man. He was young, maybe in his early twenties, and he was strikingly handsome. He was holding his cane in one hand and a full peach rose in the other. There was a gorgeous girl in a brown dress laughing with him and dancing in front of him. It was such a perfect picture, like a scene from a movie. The thing is, he couldn't see how beautiful all of it was.

His blindness prevented him from seeing the rose, or the girl, or himself.

And I heard God say, "Becca, that's you. You have no idea how beautiful you are. You have no comprehension of picture of love that you are showing to other people. You can't see the beauty of where you are all the time, but I can because my perspective is so far beyond yours. But, the people around you can see it."

And, this story applies to so many of you, too. Be encouraged, because the picture God paints with you is much grander and more beautiful than you know.
