Hope.

When the hurt returns and pain revives,
When faded memories come back to life,
When our hearts see farther than our eyes,
We strain our eyes to find the light.

Like a child wandering at night,
We strain our eyes to find the light.

When nothing can fill us and everything leaks,
When our comforts fail us and everything speaks
to this core longing, craving, waiting... waiting...
We strain our eyes to find the light.

When regrets threaten to come back again,
When we can't give up but we can't win
When our hearts are broken and bruised and torn
When our knees are bleeding and prayer is worn

Like a child wandering at night,
We strain our eyes to find the light.

I have to trust You. I trust I will see.
And, one day I'll know what You're doing with me.
